Enhancing Stability, Well-Being, and Resilience of Women and Girls Over 15 Years Old conflict affected communities in Iraq
To empower women and girls to practice their independence and rights, this project focuses on initiatives that increase women's capabilities and decision-making. To achieve this, various strategies are employed, such as enhancing women's advocacy skills at the grassroots level and community-level advocacy initiatives. In addition to intensive initiatives that provide women with information, tools, and opportunities for economic empowerment and skills development.
To improve a deeper understanding of gender norms and dynamics, the project aims to strengthen relevant stakeholders, including local government institutions, media actors, community leaders, activists, and local organizations, with gender sensitivity and awareness skills.
Furthermore, recognizing the immense trauma suffered by ISIS survivors, particularly Yazidi women and girls, the project establishes a platform for their active participation and allows them to engage in discussions about the most effective ways to advance the implementation of Law No. (8) of 2021. At the same time, the initiative enhances the capabilities of ISIS crime survivors and local activists (especially Yazidi activists) and advocates to advocate at both local and national levels. The project anticipates that by supporting the Survivors' Law, it will help survivors achieve justice, recognition, and closure; promote recovery; and provide them with the tools they need to rebuild their lives with resilience and dignity.
The project has a Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) survivor-centered approach that provides comprehensive support and life-saving care. This is implemented through case management for SGBV survivors and ISIS crime survivors, which includes providing psychosocial support, trauma relief services, as well as referrals to health, legal, and protection services.
